Summer Fun Production 2019: Additional Classes

 

Sturgis Youth Classes for the Younger Crowd

Dates: weeks of July 8 and 15

All classes held at the Bertha Martin Theatre

Strayer-Wood Theatre building, UNI Campus

 

Mondays and Wednesdays

July 8, 10, 15 and 17

Pre-Schoolers (Ages 4-5)

Title: Forest Magic

1:00-1:30

Fee:  $15.00

Enrollment limited to 10

Using story sources that emphasize both “make believe” and “imagination exploration”, this class will focus on character development and dramatic exploration through movement, pantomime and story dramatization. The class will culminate in a sharing session for parents and family members.

 

Mondays and Wednesdays

July 8, 10, 15 and 17

K-1st grade (students entering)

Title: Magic Mirrors and Drama Dwarfs

2:00-3:00

Fee:  $25

Enrollment limited to 15

This class will focus on character development and dramatic exploration through movement, pantomime and story dramatization. An assortment of fairy tales will be used.  Class will culminate in a sharing session for parents and family members.

 

Tuesdays and Thursdays

July 9, 11, 16 and 18

Students going into grades 2-3

Title:  Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

1:00-2:30

Fee:  $35

Enrollment limited to 20

Older students aren’t the only ones to explore the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.  Students in this class will work on characterization and pantomime skills as they develop short dramas inspired by the story of Snow White.  Work will be shared at the final class period on July 18.
