Auditions for TheatreUNI's 2021-22 season!

Auditions are open to all UNI students. Announcements about auditions will be posted in Inside UNI.

Auditions have concluded for Blood at the Root (The show opens March 2nd of 2022.)

Auditions for Cinderella (which opens April, 2022) will be Sunday October 17th from 1pm-4pm and Monday October 18th from 6:30-9:30pm. Callbacks are on October 20th from 6:30-9:30 pm.
*Auditions are in person

What to prepare:
Auditionees should prepare 2 contrasting 16 bar selections OR one 32 bar/short song in the style of the show/character you feel right for (Breakdown and helpful links are in the Cinderella Audition Folder below). The singing audition should be no longer than 2 minutes total.

DANCE: Please come prepared to move (change of clothes is suggested) with choreographer Meghan Reilly on your audition day.
* In order for you to be as prepared as possible, a video with Meghan teaching the initial audition choreography will be shared publicly within the next couple weeks for you to prepare for your audition.
The dance audition video link will be in the audition folder after 10/11.

MUSIC: As auditions will be in person, piano accompaniment will be provided by Seth Butler, our rehearsal accompanist. For your audition, Seth requests that your music is photocopied back to front, three-hole-punched and in a binder. Please also make sure any cuts are clearly marked.  In the next couple weeks Seth will be available for a 30 minute coaching for auditions for only $10. Reach out to Jim Bray ( for more info!
*Please, no tracks or acapella singing.

We also need students who want to act in scenes and short plays from our Directing class. The auditions for the Fall 10-minute plays will take place on October 12, and will be promoted through InsideUNI.

We also love volunteers! Students often help build scenery and/or costumes. Contact the departmental office at 273-6386 for more information about these opportunities.

We hope all UNI students will consider getting involved with the program!
