Auditions for TheatreUNI's 2021-22 season!

Auditions for TheatreUNI's 2021-22 season!

Auditions are open to all UNI students. Announcements about auditions will be posted in Inside UNI.

Our first show of the season is an outdoor show called A Small Pair of Feet in the Middle of the Sea. We have already cast that production, as it will take place in late September.

TheatreUNI’s second production of fall 2021 will consist of several comedic radio plays by Eric Coble. Over the summer students are encouraged to read the plays, prepare their voice-over audition and submit their Mp3 file when ready.
The deadline for submission is: September 3rd. Callbacks will be held at 6:30pm on Sunday, September 19th. These radio plays will be recorded in late October.

The following links will take you to more information about the pieces (including links to the scripts and the audition form/submission site) and audition materials.

We will hold auditions for Blood at the Root on September 13th, with callbacks on the 15th. (The show opens March 2nd of 2022.) Students will prepare two components for the audition. One component will be a “meaningful” song or rap (90 seconds maximum). This should be acapella. Those auditioning can also speak a meaningful poem (in verse) should they not wish to sing. Students will also need to prepare (no more than) 1 minute of a selection of text from the script

Auditions for Cinderella (which opens April 7th, 2022) will be held right after Thanksgiving.

We also need students who want to act in scenes and short plays from our Directing class. The auditions for the Fall 10-minute plays will take place on October 12, and will be promoted through InsideUNI.

We also love volunteers! Students often help build scenery and/or costumes. Contact the departmental office at 273-6386 for more information about these opportunities.

We hope all UNI students will consider getting involved with the program!
