Communication-Theatre-Teaching

UNI is the only Iowa Regents university with a Communication-Theatre-Teaching major.  The program prepares students for teaching Communication and Theatre (including speech communication, debate, and theatre) for grades 5-12.

Communication-Theatre-Teaching Major

The Communication-Theatre-Teaching major requires a minimum of 122 total hours to graduate. This total includes Liberal Arts Core requirements (45 credit hours), the Professional Education Requirements (32-33 credit hours), and the following specified major requirements (48 credit hours) to complete the minimum of 125 hours. There are some Liberal Arts Core courses included in major program requirements.

The Communication-Theatre-Teaching major is jointly administered by the Departments of Communication Studies and Theatre. Students are eligible to apply for Theatre scholarships as long as they maintain an active profile of involvement in Theatre productions. Foundations of Theatre (THEATRE 1010) can be used as a substitute for Direct/Script for Group Performance
